There has been lots of controversies over such decision the developer has made on the staffs as they should value human life more than anything, complying to the business ethics. However, as suggested, the game release has been given a green signal with its mandatory release on November, to stand as per the expectations of the gamers. The crunch situation has been reported by Jason Schreier at Bloomberg article where he mentioned that CD PRojekt Red CEO, Marcin Iwinski has officially reported a gaming website - 'Kotaku' on the avoidance of any overtime for the employees, however a recent email to an employee the Studio Head - Adam Badowski wrote:

Starting today, the entire (development) studio is in overdrive
He also wrote in an email stating:
I take it upon myself to receive the full backlash for the decision, I know this is in direct opposition to what we've said about crunch. It's also in direct opposition to what I personally grew to believe a while back that crunch should never be the answer. But we've extended all other possible means of navigating the situation

Also mentioned to be paid for the overtime, the 'Head' noted that, they could not stand upon the word said earlier due to the requirements as the release is officially need to be done on November, 2020. However, put aside such crunch news coming up and critiques commenting on the working culture, we should consider the actual scenario which is being held in the developer studio before going forth the sarcastic comments floating around. With one of the best consumer friendly company as CD Projekt Red, that delivers and keep up with the promises to gamers in offering best optimization & gameplay, it is difficult to accept how such a company could be a part of so many criticisms!

With the above statement of the email as posted by the head of the studio to the Bloomberg reporter, Jason Schreier, it shows the dedication of the developer team it polishing the ultimate outlook relieving of all the issues or bugs, prepared to delivered on November 19th, exciting all gamers in the hype of an outstanding gaming experience. Comparing with the common companies providing crunch to their staffs and treating badly without offering incentives, is something which should not be taken for granted.
